Born and raised in Lytham...I've been making with clay for many years the fascination began at school level...and then later a local brickworks provided me with the free raw material and together with a re dundant kiln from a local school which helped rekindled the journey.....
I have always had a strong affinity with the wonders of the natural world, sadly during my lifetime have witnessed destruction of our environment and the planet on an unprecedented scale. am an Environmentalist and a member of Greenpeace.
Studying ceramics at University of Central Lancashire some 25 years ago was a game changer for me University gave me the opportunity to learn so much more, and to travel to South Africa on a student exchange....which led me to living and teaching ceramics in the Eastern Cape for a number of years.
My work is often characterised by using bright metallic finishes...each piece is unique... emphasising nature at its best often with humour and sadly in some cases at its worst....some of my works are designed to give a voice to the natural world.
Recently lockdowns provided an opportunity to work again with naturally dug clays found locally in Lytham on Ribchester Road...
